| We love to read and not just about the world of business. As part of our involvement in helping and restructuring firms we see a wide variety of industries. This has given us a wide and deep knowledge pool.
Our daily information is from our pink friend the FT.
And we subscribe to the weekly Economist journal.
We have contributed our knowledge to the Growing Business Handbook - Chris Lowe authored chapter 6.5 - Before the money runs out.
Other books that we love:

The Intelligent Investor Benjamin Graham Publisher: Harper Business
ISBN: 0-06-015547-7
First published in 1949 and, in our opinion, one of the best books ever written on investment; clear, concise and sensible.
Where are all the Customers’ Yachts? Fred Schwed Publisher: Wiley
ISBN: 0-471-77089-2
First published in 1941 by a former Wall Street banker who noticed that the yachts moored at Battery Park were all owned by bankers.
Barbarians at the Gate Bryan Burrough & John Helyar Publisher: Arrow
ISBN: 978-009954835
Describes the hostile bidding war for RJR Nabisco that was won by private equity house Kohlberg Kravis Roberts in 1990. This book remains in print and was made into a film because it is an exciting and gripping story of greed, hubris and excess.
My Years With General Motors Alfred P Sloan Publisher: Doubleday
ISBN:0-385-04235-3
Written by the man whose name is on the door of three of the world’s most prestigious business schools (the Sloan schools at London, MIT and Stanford), this gives an account of how he built General Motors into one of the world’s largest industrial corporations.
The Deal Maker Axel Madsen Publisher: Wiley
ISBN: 0-471-28327-4
The story of how the flamboyant William Durant acquired the disparate companies that went on to become General Motors and how he lost his money. This makes an interesting prequel to Alfred Sloan’s book (see above) about the same company.
Skills For New Managers Morey Stettner Publisher: McGraw Hill
ISBN: 0-07-135618-5
Because of its title this book gets fewer readers than it deserves. It gets shelf space here because it gives excellent practical guidance for managers, new and old. This is a book that should be constantly referenced.
